In one of the more' ancient and entire districts of the city it is found the Church of S. Maria the Nova, whose imposing prospectus, in neoclassic style, it is a 1816 reconstruction on the more' ancient structures of the XV - XVII sec.  The inside decorated by plasters preserve to the third altar of the aisle central risen Jesus, wooden statue attributed to Bendetto Civiletti: to the greatest altar the Nativity of the Virgo of Sebastiano Conca.

To the third altar of the aisle the Madonna of the Snow damages marmoreal statue of school gaginesca (1496); to the second altar the Madonna of the Pity, statue in wood of cypress of probable Byzantine origin.
