Its territory was inhabited from the prehistoric period, as they testifies the numerous residences neolitiche and trogloditiche recovered in the grandiose and famous valley of the "it Extracts of Ispica" and "Apolline city". 
Situated on a hill of 170 ms. on the high ground of the Iblei mountains to 7 kilometers from the coast, dista 33 Km. from Ragusa and you/he/she is set in the more limit' oriental of the province. 
Anciently the place called Ispra, modified in Roman epoch in Ispicae Fundus. In the medioevo it assumed the name of Spaccaforno up to 1935, when I return' to the origins with the actual name of Ispica. 
Before the earthquake the inhabited area was inside it gets by of Ispica in the final part. The Siculis, the Greek, the Romans, the Byzantines, the Arabs and the Norman ones have succeeded. 
The plant of the city is typically eighteenth-century today, with an urban structure to chessboard and they are noticed splendid buildings I delay Baroque, neoclassic and liberty.
