The splendid Roman villa, famous all over the world as Roman Villa of the Hamlet (from the name of the region in which and' situated), the strata of the Mangone Mountain it is found to, to around 5 km from Armerina Plaza (En) and you/he/she has probably been built among the end of the III sec. and the beginning of the IV sec. d.C. from an important character surely, perhaps a member of the imperial family (M. Valerio Massimiano). The villa is an extraordinary testimony of the life of the times thanks to its splendid decorations known musive all over the world. Villa of country, surrounded from latifundia, you/he/she was desultorily lived only and up to the XII sec.  
LOCATION
 
The immense villa (3500 mqs) prepared him on more levels. The principal entrance introduced in the polygonal courtyard from which access was had to the great peristilium around which the rooms were prepared for the guests (to north) and of the landlords (to east). Adjoining to the two rooms reserved to the guests there were the environments of their service devoted, complete of kitchen. The consecrate zone to the landlords was divided in two wings from a great basilica that served for the reunions and the official receptions. To the outside, in the part retrostante, a small octagonal latrine was reserved to the members of the family. The convivial zone was situated to south and was composed from a great elliptic atrium on which you/they leaned out the great triclinium trilobato, is small rooms and the environments of service.

THE THERMAL BATHS
The western part of the complex was busy from the thermal baths. The water restocking was insured from two connected aqueducts to a bystander fed by the river it Freezes that it flows to few meters of distance. 
The mosaics, that are in absolute the widest and fascinating of Roman epoch, were very probably realized by maestranze north Africans as it shows the authenticity and the precision with which the places and the situations are represented. Through these mosaics he is able ripercorrere the history of the greatest among the empires with the scenes of daily life, the representations of heroes and divinity, scenes of hunting and games.
POSITION
To make to appreciate better the various representations, the same have been mails so that the frontal side is turned toward the entry of every room: the visitor, entering, you/he/she could admire then the frontal side of the representation.

Some rooms introduce a decoration geometric musiva from the various motives: you look for, stars, crosses to torciglioni, hexagons, interlacements. The others, that introduce figurative scenes come following you list.

The thermal baths - Just entered overall it is coasted along, on the left, a line of the aqueduct that served the villa. Later, a series of environments is immediately gone beyond that constituted the thermal complex. 
Room of the Unctions - And' a small square environment whose decoration musiva remembers the function to which was destined. They distinguish some ready slaves to anoint and to massage the body of the swimmers. 
Frigidarium - To octagonal plant, the place destined to the baths in cold water introduces a beautiful decoration central musiva of sea ambientazione. 
Peristilium - it is entered You passing for a hallway. The mosaic represents some figures with in hand a candelabrum, a branch of laurel and, the figure under, a diptych (book formed by two tablets) to be read for giving the welcome one to the landlord and the guests.
Mosaic of the peristilium - Long everybody and four the sides of the quadriportico it races a beautiful decoration medallions round musiva within square frames, you adorn to the angles from birds and leaves. 
Small latrine - The mosaic of the floor is decorated from figures of animals among which a wild donkey, a leopard, a hare and a partridge are distinguished. 
Room of the Circus - Of lengthened form and rounded off to the two extremities, it was, with all probability, the gym of the thermal baths. 
Room of the Dance - The mosaic, incomplete, it allows to see women and men that dance however.

Room of the Four Seasons - Inside four medallions the seasons are represented, you personify in the faces of two women (spring and autumn), recognizable from the dress and two men (summer and winter) with an open shoulder. 
Room of the Cupids Fishermen - Some cupids are intents to fish with the fishing-lines, the harpoon and the net or to play in water with the dolphins. 
Room of the Small Hunting - In five pictures the salient moments of a wisecrack of hunting are introduced. 
Ambulatory of the Great Hunting - Enormous rectangular corridor along 60 meters and finishing with two esedres. And' the most suggestive and monumental environment. On the floor, an unbelievable scene of big hunting.

Hallway of Ulisse and Polifemo - it Represents the famous scene of the deception of Ulisse that hands the cup of wine that will make him/it put to sleep to the monstrous (here represented with three eyes) being. To the shoulders, the companions of the hero fill another cup. 
Diaeta of Orfeo - it was the room destined to the music. The mosaic recalls the function of it. 
Triclinium - And' a vast square room that opens to esedre on three sides. 
Central zone - the Twelve Works of Ercole have imagined. They are only some recognizable of it. 
Hallway of the Small Circus - again a scene circense, but with some his/her children for protagonists.

Apse of left - you/he/she is represented You the glorification of Eracle, to the center, that holds for hand the friend Iolao (on the left), while Zeus sets him a crown of laurel on the head. 
Central apse - you/he/she is represented You a gigantomachia: five the enormous beings struck by the arrows of Eracle. Apart the central figure, the other ones have snakes to the place of the legs. 
Apse of right - it Illustrates the episode of Ambrosia and Licurgo. 
Diaeta of Arione - you/he/she was probably turned musiva to room of the music and the poetry and the decoration it is in accord with the function. 
Atrium of the cupids fishermen - You decoration musiva represents beautiful scenes of fishing that race along the whole portico semicircolare.
Cubicle of the musicis and the actors - it was probably the room of the daughter of the owner. 
Hallway of Eros and Bread - To the center Bread, god of the woods, recognizable from the horns and from the legs caprine, struggle against Eros, god of the love. Of Bread side the judge, crowned of laurel. 
The little boys' cubicle hunters - it was probably the room of the child of the landlord. 
Cubiculo of the erotic scene - Surrounded by the images of the four seasons (in the hexagonal medallions), a polygonal medallion contains within a crown of laurel, the embrace among a youth and a young girl discinta. And' this one of the few rooms that still preserve rests of the wall paintings with figures dancing. 
Room of the Ten Girls in Bikini - On two different registers 10 girls are represented whose custom is surprisingly similar to ours "two pieces", sitratta in reality of the underclothes, that was also worn for completing gymnastic exercises.

The beautiful Greek statue of the goddess Afrodite, come to the light in Sicily in the archaeological area of Morgantina, to little distance from Armerina Plaza, and covertly exported for being sold to the Paul Getty Museum of Los Angeles, you/he/she will be returned soon to Italy and therefore he/she will return in Sicily.
